Appthority, the global leader in enterprise mobile threat protection, announced that Anne Bonaparte has joined the company as its new CEO. Bonaparte, a veteran of the cybersecurity and mobile industries, will lead the company through a critical growth period as enterprises begin to put greater emphasis on protecting sensitive data accessed through their mobile workforces.

“I gravitate to markets on the verge of explosive growth and companies that can lead in those markets so I’m thrilled to join Appthority”

“We are excited Anne has joined Appthority and is leading the team,” said Sean Cunningham, managing director at Trident Cyber Security and Appthority investor and board member. “Her wealth of experience and deep domain expertise are a great fit for Appthority as the company continues to innovate in the expanding enterprise mobile security space.”

Bonaparte is a seasoned entrepreneur and company builder known for scaling emerging companies through high growth stages. Before joining Appthority, she served as the president and CEO of BrightPoint Security, a threat intelligence platform company, which she grew to market leadership before acquisition by ServiceNow.

In today’s mobile enterprise, thousands of employees share critical company data across an ever-changing landscape of devices, apps and data networks. Enterprises face a broad range of mobile-based threats, including apps with malware and data leakage issues entering the enterprise through BYOD and COPE, as noted in the company’s latest Pulse Report.

Earlier this year, Appthority discovered the HospitalGown vulnerability, which exposed more than 43TB of enterprise data through backend data stores that were left unsecured.

“I gravitate to markets on the verge of explosive growth and companies that can lead in those markets so I’m thrilled to join Appthority,” Bonaparte stated. “The adoption of mobile within the enterprise has far outpaced the investment in security for mobile and enterprises are quickly realizing the need to incorporate mobile threat protection into their overall security strategy to protect their organizations from a costly breach.”
