Paul’s career has been focused on building innovative, high-growth companies within the technology sector in general, and cyber security in particular. He was the CEO of two successful Internet security companies; Counterpane, which was acquired by British Telecom in 2006, and Dasient, which was acquired by Twitter in 2012.
Prior to founding his first company in 1999, Paul was a Vice President at IBM, responsible for consulting and services in their Telecommunications, Media, Entertainment and Utilities industries for the Americas. He was also with KPMG for 12 years as a Partner in charge of their National Telecommunications practice.
He speaks at many industry and technology conferences including CTIA, Fortune, Gartner, InfoSec, RSA, and Supercomm.
Paul earned a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Saint Mary’s College of California and an MBA from the University of Notre Dame Graduate School of Business. He is a member of the Saint Mary’s College Board of Regents.
Domingo Guerra, Appthority’s president, cofounded the company in 2011 to help the enterprise solve new security challenges in an increasingly mobile, app-centric world. He is the leader of Appthority’s Enterprise Mobile Threat Team, where he specializes in identifying mobile app risks and behavior trends, and advising the enterprise of the business risk associated with data breaches, losses and leakage tied to today’s dynamic workforce.
Domingo has been cited as an expert on enterprise mobile risks including app and device threats, permissions, malware, hacking, and many other cybersecurity topics in key media outlets such as CNBC, Fast Company, Forbes, SC Magazine, TechRepublic, The Guardian, and more.
Domingo has been a featured speaker at numerous security and mobility conferences, including B-Sides, MacWorld, IT Expo, AppsWorld, Cyber Security Industry Group, AirWatch Connect, and MobileIron’s Mobile First Conference. He has also appeared on CBS, CNBC, NBC, and Fox News as a trusted source on topics pertaining to mobile app risk management and data security.
Domingo currently hold six patents for various technologies, including four specific to Appthority’s mobile app security. His Appthority patents, which he shares with his co-founders, cover:
- Quantifying the risks of applications for mobile devices
- In-line filtering of insecure or unwanted mobile device software components or communications
- Off-device anti-malware protection for mobile devices
- Techniques for off-device anti-malware protection for mobile devices are disclosed.
- Application malware filtering for advertising networks
- Techniques for providing systems and processes for detecting malicious ad content distributed by advertising networks and automatic determination of ad content is association with a malicious app.
He holds a BS from The University of Texas at Austin, an MS from Stanford University, and an MBA from Santa Clara University.

Kevin Watkins most recently served as a Research Architect at McAfee Labs. His research focus has been on automation of content to regulatory frameworks, VoIP content compliance (to which he works with working groups to define VoIP security standards), and designing research tools for mobile malware. At McAfee he was considered the mobile expert and is often called upon for analysis, media interviews, and to speak at industry conferences.
Kevin has served in the security industry for over ten years and designed security software used by many Fortune 100 companies and government agencies. In his free time, you can find him snowboarding in Lake Tahoe, mountain biking in the Presidio and Marin headlands, or wondering why San Francisco summers are so cold.
Robbie is an accomplished, market-savvy product development executive with a track record delivering award-winning products. As VP Engineering he is responsible for all development functions at Appthority, including software engineering and DevOps.
Robbie is a veteran of the security and networking industries, having previously been VP Engineering at Vernier and SVP Engineering at RedSeal Networks. He has also held executive roles at Aria Systems, Sentient Networks, and Hatteras Networks. Prior to that he was a co-founder and CTO of Network Equipment Technologies (N.E.T.) which grew to over 1,000 employees and became the industry leader in multi-service networking.
As a senior product and marketing executive, Michael brings over twenty-five years of technology industry leadership experience to Appthority. Over the last decade, Michael has focused on building and successfully exiting several cloud infrastructure and B2B software businesses including Cloudscaling, Redmojo, and Ejasent.
Earlier in his career, Michael held senior product, marketing, and business management roles at various companies including Documentum, Relevance Technologies, Sun Microsystems, Macromedia, and Apple.
As an active advisor and investor, Michael has made numerous strategic contributions to a variety of early stage companies, founding entrepreneurs, and venture investment funds.
Michael holds a B.A. in Business & Economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
Jill Richards is an award-winning marketer with a proven track record of success growing dynamic technology startups. She has focused her career on creating strategic, marketing and sales advantages for internet, big data and mobile companies.
Most recently, Jill served as Chief Marketing Officer at Stitch Labs, a leader in multi-channel commerce data, where she headed marketing and launched the communications, demand generation and product marketing functions. Prior to Stitch Labs, Jill was Chief Marketing Officer at Terracotta, an in-memory big data innovator, where she led global communications, product, partner and field marketing.
Jill also founded boutique strategy and marketing consultancy Gray Wolf Partners where she advised start-ups as well as enterprise clients including SAP, Wells Fargo, eBay, and Cisco. And, she served as Vice President of Marketing at Visto Corporation (now Good Powered by BlackBerry) and directed member acquisition and product marketing at Netscape Communications and America Online.
Jill holds a BA in International Relations from Pomona College and an MBA from The Anderson School at the University of California, Los Angeles.
John is a 20-year software veteran focused on revenue generation, channel strategy and sales excellence for Appthority. Before joining Appthority John spent 5-years at MobileIron and was an integral part of the leadership team that grew the customer base from 100 to 10,000 customers leading to an IPO in June of 2014. Before that, John was an early member of the Opsware sales team – culminating in an $1.6B acquisition by HP. Earlier in his career, John held very successful sales roles at Egenera, Veritas, and CA Technologies.
John holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Florida State University.
