The integration will give customers real-time insight into the security risks and vulnerabilities exposed by mobile apps developed commercially as well as in-house. It will also help IT organizations prevent security and compliance breaches, accordi9ng to Fixmo’s chief security officer Daniel Ford. Fixmo aims to give customers the intelligence and the tools they need to make informed, risk-based decisions, and to respond to high-risk security threats proactively before there is a breach, he added.

The Appthority Platform analyzes mobile apps and identifies hidden security and privacy risks including malware, Trojans, keystroke recording, and access to the corporate address book or other private data, added Domingo Guerra, co-founder and president of Appthority.

The combination of these solutions will enable Fixmo to give organizations an unprecedented view into the security risks and vulnerabilities in their mobility deployments. If security threats are detected, the combined solution will let customers activate security policies and remediation to thwart the threats, company officials said.

“By integrating Appthority’s Mobile App Risk Management capabilities, the company can now offer real-time insight into the security risks and vulnerabilities exposed by commercial mobile apps and help organizations take action to prevent security and compliance breaches,” Guerra said in a statement.

“This level of predictive threat assessment and risk management is a first in the industry, and is critical to helping our customers transition from a reactionary device management approach to a predictive mobile risk management framework,” Ford said in the statement.
