Security Researcher

As an Appthority security researcher you will be responsible for acquiring and identifying malware “in the wild”, which will enable you to assist in the development of signatures and rules for automated malware detection. In this role, you will be responsible for mobile malware acquisition and analysis, malware characterization, research and mitigation to the latest mobile security threats, and outbound communications including advisories and blogs. You will provide input to state of the art dynamic engines built to analyze iOS and Android apps, and provide input to Sales and Marketing regarding your research on mobile app threats.

Job Requirements:

  • Computer science BS degree (MS a plus)
  • 3+ years professional experience as mobile security researcher or security engineer
  • Expert-level knowledge of mobile malware, including trojans, ransomware, and adware
  • Significant experience with mobile malware acquisition and identification
  • Understanding of malware families and propagation techniques
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

Additional skills helpful for the role:

  • Knowledge of App Store and Google Play policies and practices
  • Knowledge of Android and iOS internals
  • Knowledge of dynamic software analysis and automation
  • Penetration testing experience

Quality Engineer

As an Appthority quality engineer you will be helping to ensure quality and reliability for the industry’s leading system for automated, scalable Mobile App Risk Management. In this role, you will be responsible for developing test plans, cases, and scripts; scheduling and executing test cycles; contributing to testability and quality of Appthority software; verifying proper end-to-end system functionality; and working closely with Support staff for new deployments and customer issue troubleshooting.

Job Requirements:

  • Computer science BS degree or equivalent experience
  • System-level testing experience, preferably with Ruby on Rails with React front-end
  • Exceptional problem solving, analytical and debugging skills
  • 2-3 years of experience building and maintaining front-end automation using
  • Selenium WebDriver (preferably with Ruby bindings) and Cucumber
  • Working knowledge of Unix/Linux platforms
  • Hands-on programming experience in Ruby or Python
  • Hands-on REST API testing experience.
  • Database experience, preferably with Postgres and Active Record
  • Experience building continuous integration workflows
  • Experience testing mobile apps for both iOS and Android
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills

 

Additional skills helpful for the role:

  • Knowledge of cloud infrastructure (AWS knowledge or experience a plus)
  • Experience developing REST-based applications
  • Security experience, especially mobile app security

Senior Software Engineer

As an Appthority senior software engineer you will be a key member of the team leading the development of the industry’s leading Mobile App Risk Management solution. In this role, you will be responsible for design and implementation of Ruby and RoR-based features, deployed on AWS; your responsibilities will also include design support and mentoring of less senior engineers and interns. This is a great opportunity for someone with deep Ruby on Rails experience who wants to join an elite team that will make “Trust Your Apps” a reality.

Job Requirements:

  • Familiarity with iOS and/or Android principles (development experience a plus)
  • Computer science BS degree (MS a plus)
  • 8+ years professional software engineering experience with at least 3 years using Ruby on Rails
  • Knowledge of RDBMS concepts (PostgreSQL experience a plus)
  • Knowledge of cloud infrastructure and tools (AWS experience a plus)
  • Experience with Elasticsearch
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
